David, have you ever wondered why you have such a hard time relating to people on this forum?

You should consider that everyone's attitude toward you might actually have something to do with YOU.

Hi,

I don't use leads extensively, because the nature of the plan I am with, I work through other's leads, allow me to go very deep. In other words, warm market.

When I work leads, after the new individual is sponsored, we go deep with their contacts, creating a fast growth on those lines.

I used to post every week a training tip on this site, do a search and you will find some. I will be doing it again probably starting next week.

I will be soon posting a free site with my basic training. It will spell the system I work.

According to a MarketWave survey of over 7,000 mostly U.S. distributors (from 1991 to present) who were asked "How many MLM programs are you currently trying to build a downline in?":

1: 55.8 %
2: 27.8 %
3: 11.9 %
4: 3.6 %
5+: 0.9 %

However, if we only look at responses from the last three years (over 400), the numbers change significantly:

1: 76.57 %
2: 12.32 %
3: 3.86 %
4: 0.24 %
5+: 0.97 %

As an industry are we getting wiser?

By the way, if anyone would like to participate in the current survey (you get all the results for free if you take the survey), go HERE.

Hi Len,

I think you just posed a very good
question.

Personally...I promote all the companies
I consider to be good ones within the
industry, and am a customer of several
reps who work with companies who have
products I cannot get from myself.

ABC Health is a back to the basics based
business and my mission has always been
to offer people the highest quality, best
quality/price ratio products available.

So, I promote the products I market and
all the great companies in our industry.

I do have more than one vendor for
products, however my main focus as far as
building an organization is with URI at this
time and for as far as I can see into the future.

I still receive checks from past building efforts
and do still serve and support folks who are
still building with those companies.

Is the industry as a whole becoming wiser?

I think so Len. I truly do.

Newer companies are coming out with
business models that combine the best of the
best from both NWM and Standard Business.

And standard business is also adopting the
best from the NWM business model.

Individuals building NWM based businesses
are also doing more of what fits with their
personal intended results rather than signing
up and being 'in' a NWM company...they are
actually taking charge of their own lives and
their own businesses.

I forsee an exciting future for all businesses
throughout the world marketplace! And this
includes all home based businesses.

You?

DJ

i think every business needs to be wiser and move with the times

for instance we have a company called tescos and as a super market is growing at extreme rates

yet all we here from small businesses is its unfair

all supermarkets are being looked into buy monopolies comission

while lots small businesses complain because putting themn out of business

yet I know a small shop thats focused on something the big supermarkts cant offer, and is doing well

but again customers are becoming wiser, and there buying all their goods from one place and we have to move with the times

but in the end its up to individuals, and their customers

after all more and more people shopping online even in uk

but the % of people who dont succeed in mlm

hasnt been greatly reduced

the % of mlm millionares hasnt changed much

so maybe the number of mlms u do doesnt mean a fig

because if having 1 mlm and working that was panacea then wed see more people suceeding

I thought I posted in reply to this yesterday saying that honestly David doesn't owe me an apology for that, Marko - but I can't find my post now. I think I sometimes click on "preview" and forget to click on "reply to post"!). I've been rude about him and he can be rude about me too, if he wants to. I've made no secret of the fact that I think this forum would be a better place without him, so that entitles him to call me a 14-year-old if he wants. Many women my age would be flattered! [;)]

Very, very interesting, Len. Many thanks for bringing this to our attention.

As an industry are we getting wiser?

Looks that way, doesn't it? [;)]

I found this online survey very interesting to take part in, and the overall results afterwards absolutely fascinating. I had absolutely no idea at all that some of "what's important to me" about an MLM company would be so radically different from the overall views. But I suppose that many of those differences could be because about 92% of your respondents are in the US, though, and maybe my outlook is a more European one?

A great shame that only just over 400 distributors have taken part in the current version this instructive and interesting little exercise. I hope that soon becomes 4000 instead, and I encourage all members here to take part: it takes only 3 minutes and the results are so interesting!

Everytime I hear talk of a percentage number
stated of people who don't succeed with NWM,
I still have to wonder what criteria and what kind
of verifiable information was used to determine
the percentage who 'don't succeed'.

Personally...I think it's a stat that is pretty useless
because any person who has achieved their
intended result from becoming involved in any
capacity with a NWM company has indeed had
success.

This would include even those who join groups
more for the social aspect than to make money
and there have been many do this...they love the
interaction with other people, the meetings and
events and I know many who have been members
of companies for years and not made an amount
of money others would deem worthwhile.

If this was their intent or something they became
very happy doing after joining...then one cannot
say they haven't succeeded.

My feeling is if the figure is based on just very high
income levels then it is wrong to state everyone
not earning a specific amount of money didn't
succeed.

Lol...just an observation...from my view..over here,
and I've noticed that the same kind of figures are
used to detail those who 'don't succeed' at anything
else in life...all businesses, professions, finishing
anything started, etc.

DJ,

Very well said. I tried to make this point earlier in this thread. Who are these people that are determining what "success" is??
Isn't that for each of us to decide? Now, if they want to add specific monetary figures to those stats, great.....showing what percentage of people in this industry make specific amounts of money.....that would be very interesting!

beth u can say anything with stats 25% of people know that

but i agree with you

does the increase in number people doing 1 mlm at a time not 2 have a better average income

i bet the average income of the people who do 1 rather than 2 is not significantly higher

after all its i bet u see that most peoples upline who have 1 mlm have 1mlm

rather than all my uplines in my mlms have had 2 mlms on the go

but then on the whole people are after $1000 extra month not how many mlms there in

Actually...a number of years ago I personally
decided that it would make no major difference
in the growth of my own business how many
people supposedly did or didn't succeed with
this kind of business.

So except for rare occasions when someone
posts on message boards or in forums about this
supposed issue...I really give it no thought.

When I sponsor people, I match their time and
energy in helping them get off to a good start
in achieving their intended results.

I work at developing stong networks of individual
business owners who can all work together for
the benefit of all involved.

Just feel the time I could spend trying to figure out
how many do and how many don't succeed and/or
how to make any changes in the supposed stats is
better spent focusing on those who are ready and
willing to make lifechanging decisions in their lives.

Still, all who join do so for totally different reasons
and expecting varied results.

I simply serve those who join on their terms and
work with them to achieve what they have stated
they are trying to achieve.

Attrition occurs outside this industry involving other
things people start and don't finish and always will..
it will always be an ongoing happening in this
industry too.

My belief is that in line with LOA principles, if I focus
on those who 'don't' then what will expand is more
of those people choosing to join our team...and so
I choose to focus on the ones who are working towards
achieving their intended results.

Just as those who spend too much time worrying about
how many people change companies and how often are
focused on that and draw more of those folks to them.

What we focus on expands,

Another really important thing to consider is FOCUS!

I know personally I've learned a very valuable lesson
in this area!

The more I FOCUS the more successful the business
becomes.

I'm now focusing totally on ONE company and ONE
goal and that is to build to the next level and the next
and the next all the way to the top and to bring as
many people with me as I can that choose to do
the same thing.

That means focusing and all working together as a
TEAM in ONE company for the betterment of all. That
increases the entire company bonus pool that we
all have the chance to benefit from.

Since I've really started to FOCUS on ONE company,
the one where the bulk of my income has been coming
from for the last THREE years things are really falling
into place and great things are happening.

Including being happy for the first time in a long long
time since focusing in this way.

This is personal experience and opinion from
someone who's been there done that.

To Your Success!

For instance,
Some of you has 4 or 6 business postings.
