Is Google + Dead

Postby Mary115 » Fri Dec 23, 2011 9:26 am

Google lovers might not realized it yet, but I believe its chances to compete with Facebook and Twitter have come and gone. Ever since the launch of Google + in June, many online magazines tried to create their brand profiles over this social network. There is no doubt about Google’s power to drive a flood of users to any new product that it launches. Many people considered plus as a credible alternative to Facebook. It made sense for small and big companies to indulge in the promotional activities on this platform. But now, these companies are shutting down their profiles. If you ask me, the real test of any social network is determined by what people do after they are connected to this network. Unfortunately, Google + fails in this test. From its early peak, its traffic has fallen precipitously. It seems like even their executives have gotten bored with the site. They are not finding anything interesting and engaging to do with it. What is your opinion

Its not dead, its reborn. Its just new on web, need sometime to spread its network. We all remember that ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY. So just wait and see. I think people are always looking for something new in this cyber world. I think its juat a matter of time for Google + to get the full attention. :)

Google+ was dead on arrival and everyone who has watched Google
launch various projects in the last few years knew it.

Well, Google is not the biggest game in the town yet, But surely its gaining popularity. According to the recent algorithm change, Google will be ranking the content from Google Plus profile, so it'll be mandatory atleast for the business owners to be a public face then.

There may be some way by which Google can be saved. It is important to correct its central failure. But, it is true that Google has failed to give people a reason to keep coming back to the site everyday like Facebook and Twitter. Someone has rightly said that first impression is the lasting one. Google is going to have tough time getting over its first impression of plus

I enjoy google+, but admit I still spend more time on FB.
The hangouts are powerful, and although I don't know exactly how it works "behind the scenes", I want to be on G+ and participating because how will Google use that in their ranking criteria in the future for site. Don't think it should be neglected.

Another cool feature of the hangout is while on a hangout it can be live for many to see on YouTube.
