| There is a reason that a university teaches a Business 101 class and a Business 340 class. The needs of the freshman business student are very different than the needs of the more experienced senior student. The direct selling industry is no different. The networkers in your organization will recruit people who are completely new to the MLM world, and they will also attract experienced recruits who have been a part of other MLM organizations. Don’t make the two mistakes that many others do. First, don’t group everyone together in a one-size-fits-all approach. Second, don’t think the experienced distributor doesn’t need any training. Consider the implications of making either of these mistakes. Grouping everyone together and providing a broad-brush generic set of training materials means you will either have half your audience falling behind and not understanding the concepts or you will have half the audience bored by material that is too elementary. An equally grievous error is to think that the experienced MLM recruit needs no training. Your new recruit is new to your program, your style, and often-times new to your product and compensation structure. He or she can definitely benefit from training, as long as it is appropriately targeted at the correct level. Don’t try and short-cut the process. Segment your audience according to their experience and skill level then provide appropriate training materials and you’ll find that your organization will be far more successful ina more timely way. |
