From the Article:

Hair products may be next
The cow is worshipped by Hindus, who make up some 82 percent of India’s over 1 billion people. Cow slaughter is banned in most parts of the country.

A hair dye most likely. It seems 4 out of every 5 men that I know from that area of the world, over the age of 45, dye their hair.

I always wondered why the cow was sacred yet its near relative the Yak or Water Buffalo was so readily killed for it's hide. Back in the late 1970's and early 80's One of India's greatest export was leather sandals.

Someone explained it to me once but apparently it was more a curiosity than a passionate need for an answer because I've forgotten.sad
